Additional Musical Examples

Presented here are several stand-alone works, again displaying a wide variety of styles and genres.  Please download each file by right clicking on the appropriate title below.

Solitary Piano
Solo work for piano, based on a series of descending harmonies for a gently courageous effect.

Deep Night
Everything’s better at night.  A touch of soul… with teeth.

Sooner or Later
Not happy, not sad, not ironic, not straight ahead, but perhaps the song’s more honest for its own contradictions.  A bittersweet silly / serious take on life with lyrics by Ben Clark.

Jazzbot
Opening credits for a story unfolding before your eyes.  Sleek, dangerous, jangling, hip, and dark.  And yes, it says “Jazzbot!”

Mini-Suite
Here’s a collection of cues from a single, imagined project.

1| Sometimes only tense propulsion can say what you need—and this thing drives.  A combination of orchestral sensibilities, short thematic blocks, and a contemporary synth engine pushes this nasty bit of work.

2| This quirky creation takes a more relaxed stance, but draws the listener in with a wry sense of plucky humor.  It’s music as collection of gnarled, internalized, misguided thoughts.  What does that sound like?  Download it!
