The Smooth Jazz Project

In 2003 AcoustiMedia began production on an album featuring a unique, historically literate form of “smooth jazz” that offers something to both the mind and attitude.  We’re now unveiling the fruits of that labor in multiple stylistically diverse sound clips.

Groove It A sample of the debut cut off the album: a tight funk groove featuring organ, horns, guitar and vocals and mixing elements of straight ahead song writing, instrumental melodies and open-ended improv.

Brother Ray With a rich blend soprano sax, flugel horn and electric guitar, this is our tribute to the late, great Ray Charles.  It’s not a Charles type tune per se, but its smooth trip through a spiral of funky harmonies has the same mellow vibe Brother Ray sought to exude.  Debuted on line on 6/10/04 with our fondness and memories.

Something At Seven For a short time, we’re offering the entire “Something at Seven” track for download!  This asymmetrical blend of fusion, South American rhythms, Flamenco sounds, and a full horn section is just this side of typical, but in the best possible way.
